Xmas Fun!

Between the holidays, family in town and working night shifts, I haven't been able to update with our holiday fun! Nathan and I had fun making holiday cookies, buying our first real tree and enjoying xmas with all of the uncles in town, a first in about 5 years! So rather than bore you with endless banter, here is our picture journal :-)

She's Here!

My best friend had her baby on Friday! Little Jada Laurie likes the # 12. She was born on 12/12 at 0812 weighing in at 6 lbs 12 oz and measuring 17.5". Aja had invited me into the OR for her section and I was psyched! You should have seen me, taking video, pics and cell phone pics! It was crazy, but probably the second best moment in my life (after Nathan, of course). Jada is a gorgeous, low-key baby. With such high-energy parents, this girl is either gonna tear it up along with them, or be a calm kid constantly rolling her eyes at her mom and dad. No worries Jada, you can always find solace at Aunt Bethany's house... :-)

Just born!

I will give you all a reprieve from new baby pics, the next one isn't due till mid-February!

Children's Museum

This weekend, Nathan and I were invited to a birthday party at the Children's Museum of Phoenix. What an amazing place! Nathan had a blast shooting the cars out, running through the pool noodle room, and 'baking' pizzas. Are you intrigued? You must go! Here are a few of my favorite pics...

New beds!

Over the Thanksgiving Break, yours truly spent a bundle getting some necessities for her house. I bought 2 beds, a king for me and a full for Nathan, 2 couches, an ottoman, and a TV. Well, today was the big day for our beds to arrive. Unfortunately, the adorable bedding I've ordered for Nathan hasn't arrived yet, so I figured I would keep Nathan in his crib until it did. I had the delivery guys set up Nathan's bed in the family room for the time being, but was sure to tell Nathan that it was his new bed.
Of course, come nap time today, Nathan insisted on his new bed. So, I drew the blinds, brought his sound machine out of his room (my little prince must sleep in a rainstorm at all times!) and laid with him for a few minutes. I then went to curl up in my own new bed (I love it!). A few minutes later, this is what I saw...

Sweet dreams my precious one...

Thankful

So, it might be a bit late for a Thanksgiving blog, but whatever. Seriously, my family is the best. I mean, we're dysfunctionally function. We all get along and absolutely love each other's company and this is why Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. Somehow it has become the one holiday that my whole family is together for. All of my brothers and their significant others were in town and, although every Thanksgiving is special, they seem to get better and better. Each year as Nathan gets older, I get more and more excited to share him with my family. The first year he was a newborn, last year he was trying to walk, and this year he was running, playing and saying many words for the first time. He has got some of the greatest uncles & aunts in the world, let me tell you. Here are a few pics (I'm not sure how some of my family feel about posting their pics, so I won't do it unless they give me permission):

Am I vain?

Are blogs vain? Am I being vain or raising a vain child because I think that others would want to read about myself and my family? Well, I do enjoy reading other people's blogs...um, some people's blogs. I suppose we'll just have to live a more exciting life so people will enjoy our blog too...
Am I spelling vain right? It's not vane, is it? I'm too lazy to look it up.

Ok, fine, I looked it up...
Vain - Excessively proud of one's appearance or accomplishments; conceited.
Hmmmm, maybe I am?

2 more

As promised, I will introduce Alisha Isabel and Angela Marie, born yesterday at 1:51 and 1:52 pm weighing 5 pounds 4 ounces each. Big sister Alexis is doing great and we are so excited for their family. Here they are:

Angela is on the left and Alisha is on the right. They are both beautiful little girls with enormously long fingers! To be honest, all these babies bring bittersweet joy. Of course part of me wishes it were me, but I know it is simply not my time. And, until it is, I will relish in the happiness brought by all these precious little ones. I am so thankful to have such wonderful friends with such amazing families...(By the way, can someone please have a boy! Poor Nathan is surrounded by all these ladies...I suppose it will make him an extra sensitive man, right!?)

Why I'm doing this and 2-year check-up

Yes, I'm giving into the blogging gods and starting one of my own. The peer pressure was too much! Actually, we are so blessed to have many people all over the world that care for Nathan and want to watch him grow. So instead of messing around with myspace or facebook, I thought a blog would be a great way to share pictures and updates on my favorite little man.
Anyways, I took Nathan in for his 2-year appointment and all is well. He is 37 inches and 33 pounds which keeps him in the 95 percentile. He's following his curve perfectly. We discussed his language delays, but due to his latest burst of words, the doctor isn't too concerned. We both agreed that my 6-week break from school will be an ideal time to watch and observe him for any concerns developmentally. After a quick Hep A poke, we were on our way. Nathan spent the day showing strangers his camouflage bandaid and saying, "Owie". Too cute!!

Off with a BANG!

So, I decided to start off my little boy's blog with a bang. Last night, as Nathan was running into the bathroom for bath time (yes, it's an exciting time in our household), he caught the rugged, slipped and fell mouth first on the toilet. Not a sound a mother wants to hear! And now my perfect little baby has a chipped front tooth!

The pediatrician said to get it looked at. But now my son is gonna look like a hill-billy until elementary school! Help!!

On another note, I got to meet my good friend Katie's brand-new baby girl. Seriously, this baby is adorable. No scrunched-up ugly face or cone head, just pure beauty. Rare when it comes to newborns. I was able to spend a few wonderful hours on the couch cuddled up with her today. And now I will introduce the first of many babies to come...McKinlee.
Like I said, the first of many...Alicia and Angela made their entrance into our world this afternoon and I will meet them tomorrow. Don't worry, there are 3 more babies on their way (that I know of!!). I'll post pics of the twins tomorrow after our visit.
